Alberni Multiplex – Upper lounge

Urgent: Volunteers needed
Here is your chance to come out and sign up for a volunteer position for Alberni Valley Minor Lacrosse.
Everyone that attends can fill out a ballot for the chance to win a free 2023 Lax registration for their child.
We have many vacancies available as most volunteers have had their children age out and have retired from their positions.
These spots need to be filled in order to proceed with a season in 2023.
If you are hoping to have your child play next season please consider taking on one of the many available positions.
This year 2022 we celebrated 20 years of lacrosse in the Valley, please help us make it to 21+ years.
Parents who join the AVMLA executive will receive a discounted registration fee.
We are excited to see new members so don’t forget to set reminders so you don’t miss out on this great opportunity to help these kids proceed with a fun and exciting season in 2023.
Hello all, after 20 years of being involved with minor lacrosse in the Valley it’s time for me to step back. From the beginning 20 years ago when we brought lacrosse back to the valley when the multiplex opened to now we have seen a lot of ups and downs. This year was a positive one in so many ways after coming off no lacrosse for two years, it was great to see the kids back on the floor. Over the years I have had the pleasure of working alongside some fantastic people whose commitment to the game and kids has been awesome. The last three years for this executive has been a challenge at times to keep interest alive in the game with no games or practices allowed but we stayed positive throughout. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work alongside. Now that my son has aged out it’s the perfect time for me to step aside and let some new families get involved. It’s time for me to just watch what his future brings and be a parent. I will still be at the rink watching the game that I love so much. Thanks again to all the parents, volunteers, and executive members who have stepped up over these past years to keep this game alive and to the new parents who are willing to step up and take a roll on the executive to keep it going.
AVMLA Parents and Guardians,
Hello! We hope you’re enjoying your summer and this great weather we have been having.
We are writing to you today with an urgent request for volunteers.
AVMLA has had a core group of volunteers that have enjoyed organizing lacrosse for the Alberni Valley for many years. We have 4-5 of our executive members that have players that aged out in 2022, so will not be returning to our executive board in 2023. It’s time for new faces to take on these roles.
Our executive is comprised of approximately 8-10 volunteers. We cannot run on the 3-4 people that will remain. Without new parents/grandparents/guardians signing on to help, our Association will not be able to continue to provide lacrosse in the Alberni Valley in 2023.
We generally have less than 100 players that register each season for lacrosse. We are a small association and as such, the workload is not huge – especially if we have enough volunteers to handle the tasks. None of the available roles are complicated, and there will be support provided to anyone who joins our board.
To volunteer, or get more information on volunteering, pls reply back to this email and we will reach out to you asap.
Also, keep your eyes peeled for the announcement that will specify the date of our AGM. It will be in October or November and that is where our new Executive will be formed with your help – the help of parents/guardians who agree to volunteer a small amount of time to keep lacrosse alive in the Alberni Valley.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Alberni Valley Minor Lacrosse Executive Board.
