AVMLA Parents and Guardians,

Hello! We hope you’re enjoying your summer and this great weather we have been having.
We are writing to you today with an urgent request for volunteers.
AVMLA has had a core group of volunteers that have enjoyed organizing lacrosse for the Alberni Valley for many years. We have 4-5 of our executive members that have players that aged out in 2022, so will not be returning to our executive board in 2023. It’s time for new faces to take on these roles.
Our executive is comprised of approximately 8-10 volunteers. We cannot run on the 3-4 people that will remain. Without new parents/grandparents/guardians signing on to help, our Association will not be able to continue to provide lacrosse in the Alberni Valley in 2023.
We generally have less than 100 players that register each season for lacrosse. We are a small association and as such, the workload is not huge – especially if we have enough volunteers to handle the tasks. None of the available roles are complicated, and there will be support provided to anyone who joins our board.
To volunteer, or get more information on volunteering, pls reply back to this email and we will reach out to you asap.
Also, keep your eyes peeled for the announcement that will specify the date of our AGM. It will be in October or November and that is where our new Executive will be formed with your help – the help of parents/guardians who agree to volunteer a small amount of time to keep lacrosse alive in the Alberni Valley.
